Lee Mangold, Florida House District 28
Including parts of Sanford, Winter Springs, Altamonte Springs, Chuluota and more
With experience as a public defender in New York City and in the Seminole County State Attorney's office, Kagan has been a successful criminal defense attorney for the past 20 years. She has represented thousands of people and is in the courts every day ensuring that the rights of Floridians are protected. Her expertise with the criminal justice system has given her an understanding of the system’s shortcomings as well as challenges faced by law enforcement, social workers, mental health professionals and those who are working to improve our community.
Kagan serves on the board of the Jewish Pavilion, a support service for seniors in the Longwood/Central Florida area, as well as on the Leadership Committee of SPARK, an organization that fosters education and empowerment among Orlando Jewish women. She is also active in the RAISE program by employing adults with special needs.
The mother of three daughters who have attended Seminole County public schools, Kagan is a strong proponent of public education and school safety, including common sense gun regulation. Kagan’s reputation as a no-nonsense defender of individual rights positions her to be a significant upgrade over incumbent Scott Plakon in representing her constituents over special interests and lobbyists, and Action Alliance for Progress heartily endorses Tracey Kagan for HD 29.
